When an aching back and painful joints can cause headaches

Do your joints hurt? Is your back giving you problems? If so, you may have noticed your head hurts more often as well. At least that’s what a new report says can happen when you treat your aches and pains with painkillers.

The United Kingdom’s National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence's (NICE) revealed this shocking news in its first guidelines for treating headaches. The leader of the NICE report, Professor Martin Underwood, from Warwick Medical School, said: “This can end up getting into a vicious cycle where your headache gets worse, so you take more painkillers, so your headache gets worse and this just becomes worse and worse and worse.”

None of the authors of the report could explain why the painkillers cause headaches, but they did admit the headaches can be quite serious and chronic. Some people experience tension headaches every day. Others suffer through severe and debilitating migraines.

How often do you have to take painkillers like Advil, Tylenol, or Motrin to fall into this vicious cycle? According to Manjit Matharu, a consultant neurologist at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, you don’t have to take them very often. You can begin to experience the cycle by taking the drugs only 10 days a month. For those who take these drugs daily, the risk goes up substantially.

Fortunately, this condition is easy to avoid. Even Professor Underwood agrees: “It is such an easy thing to prevent,” he said.

While his panel’s instructions are relatively easy, they’re not pleasant. Their new guidelines advise doctors to tell sufferers to immediately stop taking all pain relief. Yes, that’s easy. But here’s the problem. This leads to shear agony for these folks for about a month, as they deal with regular headaches without pain relief. The panel says the symptoms will eventually improve after a month. But for those who had headaches that led to taking painkillers in the first place, the pain may not completely go away.

Sounds miserable to me. While I agree with the advice to completely stop the painkillers, I see no reason to “do nothing but suffer” for a month. The good news is there’s a two-pronged approach that can help ease the pain and suffering.

The first step is to take a natural anti-inflammatory, such as fish oil or Reduloxin. One study of 250 patients reported that 80% of the participants taking fish oil were satisfied with the improvement they experienced in pain relief. And there were no side effects. If you take fish oil, make sure you’re taking a high-quality product, such as Daily Omega, that’s guaranteed free of contaminants. Taking Reduloxin with the fish oil can attack various mechanisms of inflammation at one time. And both can reduce headache pain as well as joint pain.

The second step is to take a formula that works to restore your joints, the underlying cause of joint pain. Advanced Joint Formula not only helps restore the cartilage in your joints, it can ease your pain in as little as seven days. What’s more, it boosts the effectiveness of your other supplements – including the anti-inflammatories mentioned above – by up to 20 times. You can read more about this by following this link.

You really don’t have to suffer from pain and the serious side effects of pain drugs anymore. There is hope for relief.
