Can a simple drink really fight pancreatic cancer?

If you get cancer, do you know what you're worth to the "cancer treatment industry?" According to research I've done in recent weeks, the revenue one cancer patient brings in is about $1.3 million. Since 564,800 people will die of cancer this year, that's a whopping $734,240,000,000. And that's just from those who die. The National Cancer Institute says another eight million people have survived cancer and are alive today. That's another $10,400,000,000,000 ($10.4 trillion). Talk about a big industry.

This industry has gotten so big and so powerful that anyone who attempts to cure cancer through any means other than the standard treatments is often destroyed. Many alternative doctors who successfully treated cancer have lost their practices after military-style raids by the FDA and other government agencies.

In many states, they are passing laws that recognize licensed naturopaths as legitimate health care providers. But these laws don't allow the naturopaths to treat cancer. Treating cancer outside of the conventional means is taboo. So if you don't want to get cancer and have to go through the traditional cut, burn, and poison means of treating it, it's vital you prevent the disease. I've given you many ways to do this in the past. And a new study shows another great way to do so.

In previous studies, researchers have found that green tea fights cancer in two ways. First, it increases oxygen to the cells (cancer cells hate oxygen). Second, they restrict blood flow to the cells (cancer cells require blood flow to spread).

In this new study, a team of researchers from the Los Angeles Biomedical Research Institute found that green tea also disrupts the metabolism of cancer cells. What's more, it can do this in pancreatic cancer, which is one of the hardest cancers to treat.

EGCG, the active component in green tea, suppresses a critical enzyme for a tumor's metabolism. This enzyme, lactate dehydrogenase A or LDHA, slows the rate at which cancer cells turnover molecules. This "flux," as it's called, speeds up as the cancer gains strength and spreads. Slowing it down prevents the cancer from spreading. The researchers said that it didn't matter if you drink green tea or take a green tea extract supplement. Both forms are effective in slowing the cancer's metabolism.

The scientists said, "This is an entirely new way of looking at metabolism... it is no longer a case of glucose goes in and energy comes out. Now we understand how cancer-cell metabolism can be disrupted, and we can examine how we can use this knowledge to try to alter the course of cancer or prevent cancer."

Whether you have cancer or just want to avoid it, it's vital you drink green tea every day or take a green tea supplement. I drink a good bit of green tea. I don't really care for the flavor, so I brew it with some raspberry or blueberry tea to enhance the flavor. If you can't work around the taste of green tea, then take a supplement like Green Tea Extract to protect yourself from this terrible disease — and the industry that only knows how to cut, burn, and poison cancer patients.
