One of the most impressive displays of human compassion and civility came after Japan’s earthquake and tsunami. The Japanese people showed incredible respect for life and property in their response to the terrible natural disaster. And their civility continues in the aftermath, as nuclear fallout threatens their lives. Even the media has marveled at their response.
Unfortunately, the media isn’t telling you everything you need to know about radiation. Don’t get me wrong. The media has done a fine job of reporting what’s going on in Japan. They’ve told how radiation threatens the health of these distinguished people. And it’s even showed how that radiation threatens this country (more on that in a moment). But the media has done little to help people protect themselves from the radiation.
According to the media, the best way to protect yourself is to take potassium iodide tablets. While there’s nothing wrong with potassium iodide, my good friend and editor of Second Opinion newsletter, Robert Rowen, MD, showed why potassium iodide just isn’t enough to protect you against radiation. He also shows what you need to make sure you’re safe. You can read all about it here.
And protecting yourself is more important now than ever before. That’s because the media is reporting that radiation from Japan has reached the U.S. A CNN report says scientists have found radiation specific to Japan in 15 states. And other reports say radiation in the air has reached the entire U.S.

The FDA says the levels of radiation are still well below “safe” levels. But if “safe” levels of radiation remain in the air for very long — or fall to the ground and get into our crops — your exposure to radiation will accumulate. Before long, you could potentially have unsafe levels in your tissues.
So it’s vital you take steps now to protect yourself. Fortunately, it’s relatively easy to do so with the supplements Dr. Rowen recommends. These include Iodoral, Metal Magnet, Chlorella, and Pectasol Chelation Complex (you can read a full report on PCC’s ability to guard against radiation here.
It’s also important to take plenty of antioxidants. Researchers presented new findings at the 36th annual meeting of the Society of Interventional Radiology in Chicago on antioxidants and radiation. They found that antioxidants can protect your DNA from the damage radiation causes. This radiation includes any from nuclear plants or from medical devices. So it’s vital you take a high-quality multivitamin every day to make sure your antioxidant levels remain high.
Don’t simply rely on potassium iodide. It’s just not enough to protect you — regardless of what the media tells you.
And when you think about it, continue to pray for the wonderful people in Japan.
