Dark chocolate’s other health benefits

You may already know that dark chocolate is great for your heart. It supports healthy levels of cholesterol and blood pressure.

You may even know that dark chocolate is great for your brain and your eyes. But what happens to the rest of your body when you eat chocolate every day for two weeks?

Researchers wanted to find out.

In this study, the researchers gave participants 40 grams of dark chocolate for 14 days.  They then collected urine and blood samples three times – at the beginning, after one week, and at the end.

The researchers were looking for changes in metabolism, anxiety levels, and gut bacteria levels. At the end of 2 weeks, here’s what they found:

All of the participants had more energy, lower levels of stress hormones, and a marked increase in gut microbial activity.

The researchers were particularly impressed by how well the dark chocolate reduced the amount of cortisol in the body. They found that by reducing this stress hormone, the dark chocolate had a profound impact on anxiety and energy levels.

What that means is that eating a little dark chocolate every day can reduce your stress and increase your energy levels.

But it can also make your probiotic work better. And all of this will have a big impact on your overall health.

So if you like dark chocolate, do a 2-week test and see if you don’t feel better. Simply eat 1-2 ounces of dark chocolate every day (the darker the better). Dark chocolate bars usually come in 3-ounce sizes. So eat half a bar a day.  No need to overdo it. A little goes a long way.

After the test, see how you’re feeling. Hopefully, you’ll feel less stressed, healthier, and more energetic.
