If your blood pressure is high, you’ve probably considered or tried drugs, supplements, exercise, or changes in your diet.
Well, today I’m going to tell you about a remedy that involves none of those things. And best of all, it’s free.
What is this remedy? It’s simple. All you have to do is eat your food at the right time of day. Sounds crazy. But a new study says it may have a huge impact on your blood pressure.
This study followed 517 men and 635 women. All of them were 43 when they started the study. They completed a five-day diet diary. The researchers evaluated how many calories they took in during the day and evaluated blood pressure at the beginning of the study and again 10 years later.
Here’s What They Found
Those who ate the most calories at breakfast had a 30% decrease in their chances of higher blood pressure.
Those who ate the most calories in the late evening had a 55% increase in risk. They also had the greatest rise in systolic and diastolic blood pressure compared to those with the lowest caloric intake in the late evening.
The researchers concluded that the later you eat your food, the higher your risk for higher blood pressure.
Don’t Skip Breakfast
With the new intermittent fasting fad, a lot of people are skipping breakfast and eating more later in the day. This study suggests that can raise your blood pressure.
But that doesn’t mean you have to give up on intermittent fasting. Just start your fast earlier. Instead of having a late dinner and not eating breakfast, have an early dinner and eat breakfast. Finish eating dinner by 6:00 pm.
Doing this will give you a multitude of benefits:
1. When you finish dinner early, it gives your digestive system time to rest and repair itself over night.
2. When you eat most of your calories earlier, your body will burn them throughout the day. And since you’re not eating late, you’re not storing those calories as fat at night, which is bad for your circulation.
3. Since you’re not storing those calories as fat, you’ll lose weight.
4. You’ll help keep your blood pressure low, too.
As you can see, it makes far more sense to eat the most calories early in the day. So enjoy a protein-rich breakfast along with some berries. It’s a great way to start the day!
