On Tuesday, I showed you the real cause of glaucoma — diabetes of the brain — and how to treat it. The best treatment for glaucoma is to not get it. And you have to keep your blood sugar low to avoid it. But what if you already have glaucoma? What should you do?
Obviously, keeping your blood sugar low will go a long way toward treating the disease. But there’s more you can do. The first isn’t a nutrient. It’s acupuncture. An amazing study found that acupuncture can help improve your eyesight.
The study was small — only 11 patients with open-angle glaucoma. But the results are impressive. In the study, the researchers looked at whether acupuncture could help improve eyesight in these patients. The researchers selected these 11 patients because they all were taking eye drops prior to entering the study. The researchers then gave the patients acupuncture at points BL2, M-HN9, St-36, Sp-6, KI-3, LR-3, GB-2-, BL-18 and BL-23 on each side. Here’s what they found:

Not only did each of the patients experience an improvement in their eyesight, each of them also had significant improvements in their retrobulbar (behind the eye) circulation and intraocular pressure. This is unheard of in glaucoma treatment.
Acupuncture is a non-toxic, relatively non-invasive therapy. The fact that it can improve circulation behind the eye where your optic nerve is, is fantastic news. Add the fact that it can lower the eye pressure and you’ve got significantly improved oxygen delivery for your optic nerve.
Personally, I think you can improve on these results by taking nutrients that specifically target the eye. As circulation improves, so does the delivery of these nutrients. So if you have glaucoma, definitely try acupuncture and take an eye formula such as Advanced Vision Formula. Many people with severe eye disease have seen improvement with this formula. While it won’t cure glaucoma on its own, it can be a valuable part of your treatment.
