On Monday, I showed you how you can virtually stop the aging process for a whopping $8,000 per year. Wouldn’t it be great if you could do the same thing for a fraction of the cost? Well new research says it’s possible.
TA-65 is the expensive supplement that can restore and protect the DNA in your cells. It does so by activating the enzyme telomerase, which helps keep your telomeres long. And telomeres are the tail of your chromosomes that help protect your DNA. The longer they are, the healthier your cells are (and the healthier you are).
Well, as powerful as TA-65 is, it isn’t the only way to promote greater telomerase activity. I showed you a few supplements that can help in Monday’s Nutrient Insider. But there’s another enzyme that helps promote telomerase. It’s the antioxidant enzyme SOD (superoxide dismutase).
SOD protects cells from the normal combustion of oxygen, carbon, and hydrogen in your body. This combustion happens all the time
But there might be something far more powerful than any supplement out there for modulating telomerase activity. It’s something I’ve told my readers about many times in the past. It’s my beloved oxidation therapy! How and why might oxidation therapy induce longer telomeres? It has to do with the enzyme SOD.
SOD (superoxide dismutase) is an antioxidant enzyme. It’s absolutely critical for protecting cells from free radicals. A 2002 German study found that high levels of SOD slow telomere shortening. So increasing your blood levels of SOD can have the same impact as the highly expensive TA-65.

So how do you increase your blood levels of SOD? A recent study on fruit flies found that apple polyphenols do the job.
A few months ago, I showed you how apple polyphenols can actually strengthen atrophied muscles. Now we may know more about how they do so. It appears they work at the cellular level, repairing your DNA, lengthening your telomeres, and rejuvenating your cells.
This new study found that apple polyphenols can help fruit flies live about 10% longer than expected. The researchers took their study further and found that the apple polyphenols actually increased the activity of SOD.
That’s very important. Remember, telomeres are the new Fountain of Youth. SOD increases telomerase and, subsequently, restores the length of your telomeres. So the results of this study show how apples can have a direct impact on how long you live.
So instead of spending $8,000 a year on an expensive supplement, all you have to do to live longer is eat more apples. Of course, if you don’t have good access to fresh apples, or you just want to increase the protection you get from this fabulous fruit, consider the product AppleBoost from Advanced Bionutritionals. It’s packed with these protective phytochemicals that can potentially protect and lengthen your telomeres. And it’s a fraction of the cost of TA-65.
