Ancient remedy gives arthritis sufferers Christmas in July

If you suffer from arthritis, an ancient herbal remedy may provide you with an unexpected gift this summer – relief. At least that’s what researchers from Cardiff University in Wales now suggest. These researchers have been examining the spice frankincense for its benefits in treating joint pain. You’ve probably heard of frankincense, as it was one of the gifts the Wise Men brought to Jesus at His birth. While the Wise Men didn’t give the baby Jesus frankincense to treat arthritis, its use in treating arthritis is legend. Middle Eastern, African, and Asian cultures have used it for centuries. Now modern science is catching up to the folklore.

Turkish cancer cure promises hope, but does it deliver?

Whenever I hear that a supplement can cure cancer, I’m naturally skeptical. Even most alternative doctors will tell you it takes supplements and a lot of other treatments and lifestyle changes to battle this killer disease. But every now and then, a supplement story will jump out at me and I have to look a little deeper. The first time this happened was with resveratrol. Twenty years ago, I read some fantastic information about grapes and their ability to fight cancer. When resveratrol supplements came out, it didn’t take too long for us to hear from cancer patients claiming the supplement cured their cancer. While it hasn’t cured every case we hear about, cancer survivors still tell us they credit the resveratrol for curing their cancer.

Prevent falls, keep your muscles strong with an extract from this popular fruit

Women have a one-in-seven risk of getting breast cancer. Men have a one-in-six chance of having prostate cancer. But men and women are at far greater risk of something every bit as dangerous. Unfortunately, few people think about it until it’s already a serious problem. And once it is, it’s a very scary problem. The problem is falling. One-in-three people over the age of 65 will fall sometime this year. Falling is such a serious problem because it can lead to broken hips, broken backs, and broken necks. Many people end up paralyzed or catch pneumonia after surgery to repair the break. When I talk to seniors who have fallen, they always express fear about falling again. It’s an experience they want to avoid at all costs.

Ordinary vitamin stops high blood pressure from destroying your cells

Do you have chronic high blood pressure? Have you tried everything you can think of to lower your blood pressure, to no avail? If so, it’s time to take action to protect your body from the high blood pressure. And it’s a lot easier than you might think. Researchers from the Federal University of Sao Paulo in Brazil wanted to find a way to protect DNA from high blood pressure. Science proved years ago that hypertension can induce genotoxity in your vascular cells. That means it can reduce the integrity of your cells, compromising their effectiveness. These researchers raised the blood pressure of 32 Wistar rats. They used a silver clip to partially obstruct their left renal artery, which increased their blood pressure. Then they gave the rats 150 mg/kg of vitamin C for seven days.

Eating fruits and vegetables was never this easy

Several weeks ago, I received a letter from a subscriber who asked a great question for anyone with kids or grandkids (or anyone who just doesn’t eat enough fruits and vegetables). Loukia T. asks: “I already use Alginol and Advanced Bone Support supplements. I have a daughter that is six-and-a-half years old and she eats almost no fruit. At what age can she begin taking Alginol and in what dosage? Is it possible to give her half a pill three times per week?”
